An Arizona Burglary Crime actually occurs when a person enters onto another person's property with the intent to commit a crime. In arizona, the laws distinguish between a residential structure and a commercial structure. Typically, state policy is to treat residential burglaries with harsher penalties because of the disruption and distress this causes the victims. Conversely, a grocery store or hardware store that is broken into, while not considered a mitigating factor, is viewed as being less "personal" than a residential invasion. It is important to note that many people frequently use the term robbery interchangeably with Arizona Burglary Crime. The main difference between the two crimes is that robbery is the taking, by force, or threat of force, the property of another. In other words, pointing a gun at someone and demanding their wallet is a robbery. Breaking into a store in the middle of the night without anyone being there is a burglary.
